Courses

CPSC 601 โ€” Data Analysis and Causal Inference

A course for graduate students looking to build statistical models to answer questions with data. In this course we'll learn Bayesian statistics that give us the flexibility to build a wide range of regression models. By the end of the course we'll know how to use a causal analysis framework to build generalized linear regressions.

DATA 608 โ€” Developing Big Data Applications

Provides advanced coverage of tools and techniques for big data management and for processing, mining, and building applications that leverage large datasets. Addresses database and distributed storage design for both SQL and NoSQL systems, and focuses on the application of distributed computing tools to perform data integration, apply machine learning, and build applications that leverage big data. Students also examine the security and ethical implications of large-scale data collection and analysis.
